Elephant Orphanage is located at Pinnawala, Kegalle district, in Sabaragamuwa province. The main access is from Colombo- Kandy main road and turn towards Rambukkana. You can easily find the place from name boad by the main road. Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage established in 1975 as place for shelter and care the wounded elephants and abandoned baby elephants found in jungle. This is covered a area over 24 acre land. The main daily activities taken place in the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage are Feeding milk to baby elephants and the bathing sessions. Elephants lie down on riverbeds and allow the the people who look after them to scrub and clean their body. In the bathing time, visitors can see elephants walk one followed by other, then cross the road and go down to the river.
Spice Garden where smells of cinnamons, pepper, cardamom, nutmeg and mace overwhelm the senses and the visitors are provided an insight into an age old industry of spice production, which attracted many a European and Asian merchants to the ports of ancient Sri Lanka.
Peradeniya Botanical Gardens, Peradeniya are about 5.5 km to the west of the city of Kandy in the Central Province of Sri Lanka. It attracts 2 million visitors annually. It is near the Mahaweli River. It is renowned for its collection of orchids.
